Rocket scientist orders 21 foot custom built bicycle frame
Fork to ship separately
PASADENA CA Nearly three years after a similar metric conversion error sent a NASA Mars orbiter plunging instead into an orbit around the Sun, a scientist and weekend bicycle racer working at the same NASA laboratory has received a 21.4 foot (652 cm) custom built bicycle frame. Mars Lab Director of Astrodynamics Dr. Jeremy L. MacKenzie was unavailable for comment, however his estranged wife says that MacKenzie ordered the bicycle frame last December from Italian frame maker Bellesi. "They needed the dimensions as metric. He was up all weekend," she told reporters. "This is just like the time he screwed up the damned spark plugs on the Saab."
